CCTV System Upgrade at Longton RUFC

Overview

Protive Security has recently completed a full CCTV system upgrade at Longton RUFC in Stoke-on-Trent, delivering a modern, high-performance solution designed to strengthen site security and improve day-to-day oversight across the rugby club.

The existing system had served its purpose, but like many long-standing setups, it lacked the clarity, flexibility and remote capabilities needed in today’s environment. After assessing the layout of the grounds, clubhouse and key access points, we installed an upgraded Hikvision CCTV system tailored specifically to the club’s operational needs.

The Challenge

Like many long-established clubs, Longton RUFC was relying on an ageing CCTV system that no longer met the demands of a busy, multi-use site. Coverage was patchy across the grounds, image quality was poor in low light, and there was no reliable way for staff to view footage remotely or off-site.

With clubhouse facilities, external pitches, car parking and multiple access points all needing oversight – often outside of standard hours – the club needed a modern system that could give clear visibility across the whole site, deter anti-social behaviour, and provide dependable evidence should an incident occur.

Our Solution

After assessing the layout of the grounds, clubhouse and key access points, we designed and installed a high-definition Hikvision CCTV system tailored to the way the club actually operates.

Cameras were positioned to cover entrances, communal areas, high-traffic zones and external spaces, delivering sharp footage day and night. Secure remote access now lets authorised staff monitor the site from any device, at any time, while the upgraded hardware provides the reliability and scalability the club needs as it continues to grow.

Joe was polite, friendly and very caring towards my mother on arrival to her home and reassured her understanding she had recently been hospitalised for almost 3 months and was still very frail.
